Deacon Dan Gannon is the Director, Editor in chief and founder of CatholiCurrent.com. He is a Roman Catholic Deacon ordained for the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin and is appointed to the Church of the Nativity of Mary, located near Prescott, Wisconsin. He and his wife, Lisa have four children Michael, Patrick, Clare and Marie.
Dcn. Gannon graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN with a B.A. in Thomistic Philosophy. He holds a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, MN and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association. Dcn Gannon was director of new product development at Thomson-Reuters for several years, co-developing KeyCite, a premier legal research tool integral to Westlaw.com. He is currently serving as founding President and CEO of Catholic Senior Services (CSS), which is affiliated with the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. CSS coordinates and connects seniors to parish-integrated Catholic senior care, housing and services throughout the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis in communion with the Archbishop. CSS consists of several Catholic senior care providers in the Archdiocese.
Dcn. Gannon is a deacon, husband, father, teacher, theologian, lawyer and CEO, retreat master, spiritual director and writer. He is enjoys leading retreats, days of reflection, or providing energetic and hard-hitting apologetics and catechesis in any areas of Theology. Dcn Gannon is a part time instructor at the St. Paul Seminary Flynn Catechetical Institute, directed by Jeff Cavins, and is an instructor in the diaconal formation program of the Diocese of La Crosse. Dcn Gannon is also an ethical advisor to Bishop William Patrick Callahan of the Diocese of La Crosse, and is active in speaking and writing about ethical issues involved with end of life.
